U-Hall Feature
The Rock Lions of U Hall



After someone saw them running freely at night in Central, the Bank of China decided to send them as a "gift" to U Hall in 1960's. However, the sport teams of U Hall was defeated in every competitions after placing them before U Hall, therefore the Rock Lions were transfer to the newly founded High West in early 1970's.

The Ceiling Lamps and Dragon Seats






Both of them were the gift from Repulse Bay Hotel in 1967 due to their decoration works. You could discover the delicate craft works of the Dragon Seat when pay more attentions to them.

Printing Wing's Entrance



Though the Printing wing had been demolished for a long time, one plate of wall is still remaining in the kitchen room and attached with a wash stand.

Emblems of U Hall


Once, we have 2 Emblem of U Hall but now one of them is lost, the remaining ones is placing in the Counter's cupboard.

The Fruit Trees of U Hall


Once upon a time, U hall was surrounded by many fruit trees like jackfruit and shaddock, you may take a search for them, though banana trees are more likely be discovered.

D. K Statue at the Entrance



In 7th November 1962, 4 Castlers "borrowed" the statue of Duchess of Kent's statue from the Duchess of Kent Hall (probably in a joint hall function) and placed it at the entrance of U Hall, and the members of D.K. Hall seems forgot such issue, therefoe the D. K. statue is still placing in U Hall.

The Castlers who took the Statue to U Hall were:

Cheah Huong Hee (1961-62)
Davud B, Lorr (1961-62)
Teo Hock San (1961-62)
Ronald T.S. Wong (1961-62)

The "Coordination Tree " of U Hall



Two trees were planted in front of the Warden's Flat and they served as "coordination Tree", However one fell during a Typhoon, so the remaining one could not be served for such purpose again.

Sliver Cup in Dinning Hall's Cupboard




46 Silver Cups was placed in the Cupboard of Dinning Hall, They were donated by the graduate after used for drinking Hall Blood (the 2nd time) in the Nazarene Nite, to express their respect to U Hall and to cherish the memory of the Hall life. The total amounts of those silver cups were more than 46, perhaps some of them were kept by Warden of lost.

Others

There are many other special locations and stories like "pig slaughtering house" and "lady of the tower", which should better be told by our current Castlers.
Three Important Days for U Hall

Founder's Nite

Usually held shortly after the orientation camp, all successfully passed freshmen will drink Hall Blood at that night.

Castler's Nite

Held at the nite of Open Day, certainly in form of Buffet Dinner.

Nazarene Nite

A farewell party for graduate and they will drink the Hall Blood for second time, it is also an award giving ceremony to the Castlers.

Black = Mysterious

Sliver = Noble

Green= Solemnly
Three Treasures of U-Hall

Monster Statues standing in front of the entrance stairs




They were standing there since the castle was founded, their heads and noses are similar to an elephant, bodies and tails were similar to a kylin (Chinese Unicorn) and claws were similar to a lion.

It was known that they are cursed and should not touch them, otherwise students would suffer many disasters.

Golden Spiral Staircase



Founded in Paris by the Missionary, the staircase was robbed by the Japanese armies and sent to Japan in World War two, returned to the castle after Japanese's surrender.

Sam So



She served Castlers since the U Hall was founded and got retired in 1997, she gave much care to all of the Castlers and perhaps she is the most important treasure for U Hall
